Why Comparison Requires Precision

Sauna, steam bath, and infrared environments are often grouped together under broad labels such as “heat wellness.” While they all involve warmth, they are not interchangeable. They differ in how heat is delivered, how it is perceived, and how the body must regulate in response.

Quality of experience depends primarily on:

The type of heat matters, but it matters through these variables—not through generalized claims.


A Responsible Comparison Framework

Instead of asking “Which is better?” a more useful approach is to ask:

  3. How does the environment affect cooling and perception?
